Boathouse Opening

Due to the opening of the UL Boathouse, a venture driven and primarily funded by UL Students, Office Hours for tomorrow, Wednesday, are cancelled.

I would encourage as many of you as possible to attend and normal Office Hours will resume on Thursday.

What a hectic few weeks

I'm just recovering now from the long fortnight that was orientation and freshers. It's now the middle of week 2 and I've started processing Childcare Applications (The closing date is today!) There were posters...but I'll accept until Friday and after that no excuses!!

I really enjoyed Orientation Week and meeting all the newbies as well as getting re-acquainted with some returnees and of course...The Lodge!! Some of ye really need to cool the beans on the drink, or maybe change which one you're having, cos there was pandemonium up there on Monday Week 0....and most possibly every night I've been there.

I'm now looking at my calendar to remember where I've been since I last blogged.
-Access and Student Affairs yesterday
-Stables Club Management last week
-Mature Student Welcome Session
-Met with landlords (4 turned up in fairness to them) who were interested in a few renovations. Mainly windows.

I've been dealing with the general accommodation queries, sexual health queries, counselling queries etc... as well as spending the odd bit of time at Reception helping out there and pointing people in the right direction.

We had C&S recruitment in the Arena last Wednesday evening where I got some Welfare Crew newbies...if interested please email SUWelfareCrew@ul.ie, C&S Admin was on Thursday evening that's pretty much the lot.

Oh ya...ASIST training. I was at Applied Suicide Intervention Skills Training all day Thursday and Friday if you were looking for me that's where I was.
